Introduction

Shimane Prefecture (6 types of seafood) ranked third among the prefectures with the highest catches and types of seafood that will be in season in October.

In Shimane Prefecture, the following six types of fish and shellfish will be in season in October.

PRIDE FISH

“Blackthroat Seaperch” (season: September-December) has been selected for the autumn “PRIDE FISH” in Shimane Prefecture, which is selected by Japan Fisheries Cooperatives. “Blackthroat seaperch” is prized as a high-class fish. Kei Nishikori, a professional tennis player from Shimane Prefecture, said in 2014 that he would like to eat blackthroat seaperch when he returned to Japan, and the blackthroat seaperch became famous and the price soared. I also love this fish, and I always eat it when I go to Shimane prefecture.

In addition, although it is the summer “PRIDE FISH” in Shimane Prefecture, the season is from July to October, so we will also introduce “Covil (Aka-amadai : Red tilefish)“. The tilefish is a high-class fish called Guji in Kyoto and Osaka.
