Fukuoka Prefecture (6 types of seafood) was ranked 5th in the prefectures with the highest catches and types of seafood that will be in season in December.

In Fukuoka Prefecture, the following six types of fish and shellfish will be in season in December.

As I wrote in BLOG before, Fukuoka Prefecture is surrounded by three seas (“Chikuzen Sea” on the Sea of Japan side, “Buzen Sea” on the Seto Inland Sea side, and “Ariake Sea” with the largest tidal flat in Japan). Therefore, a wide variety of fish and shellfish are landed.

In addition, winter is also the season for hot pots that represent Fukuoka Prefecture, such as mizutaki and motsunabe, so I think it is a very good time to visit Fukuoka in winter.
