Miyagi Prefecture’s summer “PRIDE FISH“ selected by Japan Fisheries Cooperatives are “sea squirts” and “Omotehama conger eels”.
The delicious season for “sea squirts” is from June to August. According to the statistics of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, the catch of sea squirts in Miyagi prefecture were the highest in Japan in 2019. I love sea squirts, and I love the unique taste and texture that is completely different from other foods.
“Omotehama conger eel” is a conger eel unloaded in the Omotehama area of Ishinomaki city. The delicious season is from June to August. Miyagi Prefecture is the 5th largest catch in Japan. The fluffy conger eel sushi is irresistible.
