September itinerary in Japan Day 2 (Miyagi Day 2 Meal edition)

September itinerary in Japan Day 2 (Miyagi Day 2 Meal edition) (Monday, September 27)   Table of contents Lunch Snack Craft beer Dinner   Lunch I ate “Miyagi no Sachi Nigiri” set at Matsushima’s sushi restaurant “Sushi -Kou”. It was a sushi set made entirely of sushi ingredients from Miyagi prefecture, so I was grateful for the purpose of eating seasonal seafood and local dishes. In particular, it was good to be able to eat “abalone” that I hadn’t eaten since I came to Miyagi prefecture. Also, I was very happy because I was able to eat “shark fin sushi” made from sharks, which has the highest catch in Miyagi prefecture. I think I ate shark fin sushi for the first time, but it was very delicious. “Sushi -Kou” is a sushi restaurant in Matsushima that we can recommend to everyone. However, I later learned that there are more delicious sushi restaurants in Shiogama, where the fishing port is located, so I wanted to eat sushi in Shiogama next time.   Snack I had “Zunda mochi” and matcha at Kanrantei. It makes me happy to eat “Zunda mochi” while looking at the beautiful Matsushima Bay. We highly recommend taking aread moreSeptember itinerary in Japan Day 2 (Miyagi Day 2 Meal edition)

September itinerary in Japan Day 1 (Miyagi Day 1 Meal edition)

September itinerary in Japan Day 1 (Miyagi Day 1 Meal edition) (Sunday, September 26)   Table of contents Lunch Snack Dinner   Lunch This time, I ate “Gyutan-yaki“, which is a “Local dishes loved by the nation”, for lunch. Since I arrived at Sendai station early, I went around the sightseeing spots at “Loople Sendai” first, got off at Jozenji-dori City Hall, and ate Gyutan-yaki set meal (beef tongue set meal) at the nearby “Umami Tasuke”. “Umami Tasuke” is the origin of Gyutan-yaki, and even now, beef tongue is grilled over charcoal. The charcoal-grilled firepower is strong, so it will be ready within 5 minutes of ordering. I think it’s worth just looking at the beef tongue chunks at the counter. It was about the size of a tire. Of course, the taste of beef tongue was delicious. I’ve been to Sendai several times, but it was a restaurant I’ve never been to. This is a recommended restaurant. I would like to revisit. https://www.maff.go.jp/j/nousin/kouryu/kyodo_ryouri/attach/pdf/190131-6.pdf   Snack For dessert, I ate “Zunda mochi” at “Tea-dokoro Aoba Namiki Tamazawa” (S-PAL Sendai store main building B1F, Sendai station basement). Of course, “Zunda mochi” is a local dish of Miyagi prefecture. It is aread moreSeptember itinerary in Japan Day 1 (Miyagi Day 1 Meal edition)

Miyagi’s local cuisine recommended in July

Miyagi’s local cuisine recommended in July   Table of contents Introduction Zunda mochi Harako-meshi Gyutan-yaki   Introduction “Zunda-mochi” and “Harako-meshi” are selected as the local dishes of Miyagi prefecture.   Zunda mochi Green soybean paste made by mashing edamame is used for “Zunda mochi”, but it is said that the season for edamame is May-November, so you will be able to eat “Zunda mochi” in July. Harako-meshi On the other hand, “Harako-meshi” is most delicious in autumn, which is the harvest season for salmon, so it may be difficult to eat it in July. https://www.maff.go.jp/j/nousin/kouryu/kyodo_ryouri/attach/pdf/190131-1.pdf   Gyutan-yaki “Gyutan-yaki” is selected as one of Miyagi Prefecture’s “Local dishes loved by nation” and of course you can eat it all year round. https://www.maff.go.jp/j/nousin/kouryu/kyodo_ryouri/attach/pdf/190131-6.pdf
