Fukuoka Prefecture is surrounded by three seas with different characteristics: the Chikuzen Sea on the Sea of Japan side, the Buzen Sea on the Seto Inland Sea side, and the Ariake Sea, which has the largest tidal flat in Japan. Therefore, there are wide variety of fish and shellfish landed in Fukuoka Prefecture, and we can eat many delicious fish and shellfish in Fukuoka Prefecture.
PRIDE FISH
Japan Fisheries Cooperatives has selected “Oyster of the Chikuzen Sea“ (season: November-March), “Fukuoka Ariake Nori (laver)“ (season: November-January) as “PRIDE FISH” in winter in Fukuoka Prefecture.
In addition, we will be able to eat “Ippon-yari (fishing spear squid / swordtip squid, spear squid)” selected for summer “PRIDE FISH” (season: April-November) and “Kanato-fugu (Kanato blowfish)” selected for autumn “PRIDE FISH” (Season: August-December) ,if you go to Fukuoka in November.
I think November is a very good time to visit Fukuoka prefecture where we can eat “PRIDE FISH” in three seasons.
