Miyagi prefecture (10 kinds of fish and shellfish) and Nagasaki prefecture (same as above) are ranked first, and Hokkaido (9 kinds) is ranked third in the prefectures with catches and types of fish and shellfish that are in season in August. Yes, but it’s the same as the top three in July. Nagasaki Prefecture has been the leader for the second straight month.
The 4th place is Iwate prefecture (7 types), and the 5th place is Aomori prefecture (6 types).
Since it was the same summer in July and August, there was no big change in the ranking. I wonder if bonito was added to seasonal seafood in terms of change and familiarity with Japanese people. It’s time for the return bonito. I love sashimi and seared bonito.
Kochi prefecture is famous for bonito, but in terms of catch, it is ranked 1st in Shizuoka prefecture, 2nd in Tokyo, 3rd in Miyagi prefecture, 4th in Kochi prefecture, and 5th in Mie prefecture. Isn’t it surprising that Tokyo has a higher catch of bonito than Kochi Prefecture?
From the next time onward, we will list what kind of fish and shellfish will be in season in the top three prefectures.
